The Department of Technical Education is the highest policy making body in the field of Technical Education in Karnataka. Its primary function is planning of developing Technical Education in the state. The Board of Technical Examination is responsible for conduct of Diploma/Post diploma /Tailoring examination and award Diploma/Post Diploma/certificate to the eligible candidates.Director of Technical Educationis the Chairman of the Board and all the other activities of the Board is carried out by the Secretary , Board of Technical Examination. As the Board conducts examinations in large number of centres across the State. Common guidelines are necessary based on Board of Technical Examinations working rules in order to bring uniformity and standardization in conduct of examinations.Central Board of Technical Examination was established in the year 1952 and subsequently redesignated as Board of Technical Examinations.Guidelines for issue of various certificates and conditions for issue of such certificate.

7. Mechanic (Geophysical Workshop) : 18 posts (UR-16, OBC-1, ST-1), Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 grade pay Rs.2000, Age : 18-28 years
8. Surveyor : 57 posts (UR-39, OBC-12, SC-4, ST-2), Pay Scale : Rs.5200-20200 grade pay Rs.2400, Age : 18-25 years

Fee Payable : Rs.50/- (No fee for Women/ SC/ST/PH and Ex-Servicemen) by means of Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS) only, available at head post office all over the country.
